Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced today the release of the OpreX Carbon Footprint Tracker, a solution in the OpreX™ Transformation Series designed to meet the carbon footprint management needs of companies in the process manufacturing industry.
The OpreX Carbon Footprint Tracker is a total solution for the process manufacturing industry. It consists of both a cloud service that calculates CO2 emissions based on measurement data and other types of raw information collected from instrumentation systems, power monitors, and other systems, as well as a consulting service that helps customers develop strategies for calculating and reducing CO2 emissions. It enables the visualization of CO2 emissions and the reduction of emissions.
For the calculation of CO2 emissions, the service enables seamless integration with the SAP Sustainability Footprint Management service and ERP solutions provided by SAP®, enabling the visualization and management of product carbon footprints (PCF) based on European standards. The support for the European standard and the linkage with SAP Sustainability Footprint Management Services is a world first, enabling companies in the process manufacturing industry to visualize and manage their product carbon footprint.
Product Features
Quickly and accurately evaluate emissions data and verify reduction measures
Utilizing Yokogawa Electric's data collection technology, the solution automatically collects data from sensors and systems (including those from other suppliers), evaluates the operating parameters of individual products, and updates product carbon footprint panels. By using operational data as evidence, auditing CO2 emissions is expected to be easier.
Product Carbon Footprint Management Based on European Laws and Regulations Related to CO2 Emissions
SAP is actively involved in activities related to carbon emissions in the European market, and by correlating data with the SAP Sustainability Footprint Management service it has developed, the solution helps create display panels and output reports that comply with WBCSD*1 PACT*2, Catena-X*3, and other European emissions-related laws and regulations. In addition, because it is offered as a cloud service, it is easy to update in response to changes in laws and regulations.
Providing Emission Reduction Consulting Combined with EMS and Supply Chain Optimization
Yokogawa Electric has a variety of solutions, including an energy management system (EMS), to reduce CO2 emissions by optimizing energy consumption and improving raw material procurement. While making full use of these solutions, Yokogawa Electric will also provide consulting related to emissions reduction planning and assist in the implementation of emissions reduction solutions by relying on the OpreX carbon footprint tracker to accurately measure the carbon footprint of products.
